Match report
Aslie Pitter MBE Trophy 2011
Bexley Police FC 3 - Bexley Invicta 0
With a prompt kick off at 3pm, an enthralling game was started which showed a high level of commitment from both sides. The first 20 minutes was fairly even with the Police gaining a slight edge in terms of attacking play. This was eventually turned into a 1-0 lead for the Police after a fantastic cross and a clean header home from close range.
The game progressed with both sides fully committed to playing attractive, if not fast, football. This took its toll on the players from both sides, but with rolling substitutes the commitment levels were maintained. Bexley Invicta had an insprired goal keeper on the day, Adrian Lewis, who was our clear man of the match, and managed to scupper some of the clear attacking play being shown by the Police side.
The second half started well for Bexley Invicta with some chances being created; unfortunately these chances could not be converted into an equaliser.
The Police then scored a further two goals which essentially killed off any chance of a comeback.
